describe people and things.'Feo', 'Guapa', 'Rubia', 'Morena'
are adjectives. They often go together with the verb 'SER'.
- Es guapa /
Es feo / Es rubia / Es morena / Es
joven / Es viejo, etc.
Some
adjectives change gender (masculine / feminine) depending on
the pronouns or nouns that go with them.
-Él es guapo / Ella es guapa
········· Él es rubio / Ella es rubia
········· Tiene el pelo largo / Tiene la
barba larga

However,
some adjecitves only have one form and stay the same for
masculine and feminine.
- Él es joven / Ella es joven

Adjectives
form plurals in the same way as nouns. (+
s if the last letter is a vowel, +es
if the last letter is a consonant.)
- Él es fuerte
Ellos son fuertes ·········· Ella es joven
Ellas son jóvenes
- He's strong
They're strong ·········· She's young
They're young.
When describing people's appearance in Spanish (hair,
moustache, beard etc), it's common to use the verb
TENER (to have). Tener is also used to speak
about age.
'Juan tiene 20 años' - Juan's 20 years old.
- Tiene el pelo largo / Tiene bigote /
Tiene barba
- He's got long hair / He's got a moustache
